In April of 1987, 9-month-old Jacob Jeremiah Landin died suddenly from a subdural hematoma which had put pressure on his brain and caused irreversible damage. The medical examiner determined that Jacob had died from a blow to the head, and the autopsy revealed evidence of older wounds that were in the process of healing.
