<p>Major Talbot, an old-fashioned Southern gentleman, is in Washington D.C. with his middle-aged daughter Lydia to find a publisher for his book of reminisces. The major loves to talk about the old plantation days, and his stories attract the attention of a young actor named Hargraves, who soon decides to use Major Talbot as the inspiration for a stage character he has created.
