On May 24, 2006 Mark Whistler, Steven King, and George Rayburn had run into each other on the eighth day after the disappearance of their mutual friend Rey Rivera. Prior to the 24th, the men had been active in handing out missing person flyers and putting up posters in the downtown Baltimore area.
